To coincide with the fifth anniversary of ComRes we inaugurated ten new charity awards. This seems a natural thing to do – after all, we have donated more than £250k to charities on behalf of panellists and respondents over the course of our five-year history.
The aim of the awards is to recognise the charities that lead their field in communicating with parliamentarians. We wanted an entirely open, objective measure of who deserved to win so we asked each of the 275 MPs on our panel, and some 175 panelists in the House of Lords, to nominate their lead charity in each category. The winners were those with the most nominations and were presented with their awards in the House of Commons last night.
