ComRes Poised for Expansion with New Chief Executive

ComRes has appointed Peter Harlock as its new Chief Executive, as part of the company’s ongoing
strategy for growth. Founder Andrew Hawkins becomes Executive Chairman which will enable him to
take a more focused role in supporting and developing the company’s expanding portfolio of corporate,
charity, government and media clients.

Peter comes to ComRes with an impressive background of senior leadership across the Public, Private
and Third sectors. A former Chief Executive of Barclays Bank in India, his CV includes time as the Chief
Operating Officer of Save the Children, and as Chief Executive of the £25m independent foster care
company Pathway Care, all with a common theme of driving strategic growth.

Founder Andrew Hawkins said of the appointment “We are delighted that Peter has chosen to come on
board at this exciting time for ComRes. The company has continued to grow strongly despite the
recession, and is exceptionally well positioned to take advantage of what we have identified as some
major opportunities ahead. Peter’s appointment will enable us to step up another gear while retaining
our unique company culture. We intend to make use of his international experience as part of that.”

New Chief Executive Peter Harlock said “ComRes is a great organisation, with a strong reputation and
ethos for innovation, service and delivery. I look forward to working with Andrew and the team to build
on these successes, and to help the company to achieve its potential over the coming years.”

About Peter: Peter Harlock was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the London Apprenticeship Company, and
before that of Pathway Care, a private equity acquired company delivering high quality foster care to
local authority children’s service teams. As Chief Operating Officer of Save the Children Peter drove
significant internal organisational change and strategic focus to deliver increased effectiveness.

From 1998 to 2001 Peter was Chief Operating Officer of the Commonwealth Development Corporation
(Department for International Development) and prior to this was Chief Executive of Barclays Bank in
India, and later in Singapore.
