Andrew Hawkins, Chairman

A qualified barrister, he worked for public affairs consultancies in Brussels and London before joining Harris Research where he headed the company's political research unit. Among his clients at Harris were the Conservative Party, ITN, Sunday Times and The Independent.

In 1996 Andrew was Campaigns Director for London Chamber of Commerce & Industry where, along with colleagues, he played a key role in influencing the reform of London's governance for the business community. He then headed corporate communications for BT Cellnet before becoming Chief Executive of the UK's professional body for investor relations.

Andrew is a member of the financial committee of the Corporate and Financial Group of the IPR; and a Full Member of the Market Research Society.

 

KAtharine Peacock, Director of Research

Katharine leads ComRes’s research team, with ultimate responsibility for the delivery of all research projects.  

For the past three years she has also directly managed all of ComRes's Parliamentary panels, including the largest available and most regularly conducted MPs Panel survey ever created. She has conducted panel surveys of MSPs, MLAs, AMs, and all fieldwork for the unique ComRes Europoll MEPs Panel Survey. An expert in building lasting relationships of trust with legislators and other senior stakeholders, Katharine has managed projects on behalf of clients including the Advertising Association, Orange, TfL, and Starbucks.

Katharine graduated from University College London in 2008 with a first class honours degree in French and Spanish.  After university she worked for an Ecuadorian NGO dealing with mental disability, advising clients on compliance with new equal opportunities legislation and writing funding applications for social projects in three languages. During her time in South America Katharine also helped film and subtitle television documentaries for Ecuavisa Internacional, which subsequently aired in Latin-America, North America and Spain.

After a time at Bell Pottinger Public Affairs, where she worked specifically in the Security and Defence Unit she joined ComRes as a permanent team member in 2009.
  

Simon Thwaites, director of client services

Simon joined ComRes in early 2008, since when he has managed the public facing elements of ComRes’s work, including marketing, communications, client services, and business development across the range of ComRes products in the UK and Brussels. Simon leads the account management team, with ultimate responsibility for ComRes’s customer service delivery.

Simon graduated from Oxford University in 2005 with a degree in History, having held an academic scholarship since 2003. He worked with Simon Carr (The Independent) founding a new start up political journal in Westminster, before joining Sky television in their corporate department. Making the move to marketing and communications, Simon joined the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising in early 2007 where he developed and executed communications campaigns aimed at financial analysts and the City.

During the second half of 2007 Simon worked on the IPA’s lobbying campaign to make advertising a central element of the Department of Culture Media and Sport’s Creative Economy Programme.
 

 

Jonathan rider, Research Team Manager

Jonathan Rider is the lead qualitative researcher at ComRes, managing research projects among various audiences including journalists, MPs, members of the public and academics. Over the past three years he has led on a wide range of qualitative research projects on behalf of clients including Scottish Widows, BDO, Fujitsu, and Marks and Spencers. He has managed projects of more than 200 qualitative interviews, in more than ten countries worldwide, in more than five languages, and has been responsible for almost 1,000 depth interviews with senior level stakeholders during his career.

Having graduated from the University of Nottingham with a first class honours degree in Archaeology, Jonathan went on to study for a master’s degree from the University of Oxford, for which he received a distinction. After University Jonathan worked for international relations think tank the Henry Jackson Society before joining ComRes. As an associate fellow Jonathan had a keen focus on governance, strategy and terrorism. In his capacity at the Society he organized several Parliamentary events about the political and military strategy in Pakistan and Afghanistan.   

Pru shelton, Research Team Manager

With almost ten years’ experience in Market Research, Pru is an expert in both quantitative and qualitative research. She now leads ComRes’s quantitative research team, managing projects with clients including Coca-Cola, the Department of Health, ITV News and the BBC.

Pru began her career at Ipsos UK, specialising in quantitative communications research, including advertising testing. After four years, working with clients including British Airways, McDonald's and Philips, Pru moved to KRC Research. As an Associate Director of this IPG Group company, Pru conducted the full range of quantitative and qualitative research including media polling, business to business surveys, focus groups and depth interviews on behalf of clients including MasterCard, Cargill, and Filofax.

Pru has an Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research practice from the Market Research Society. She graduated from Bristol University in 2002. 

aRtur Perchel, European Insight Manager

Artur leads on all of ComRes’s research in Brussels and the wider EU, managing projects using the Europoll MEPs Panel survey, as well as bespoke quantitative and qualitative research. Artur conducts perception research on behalf of some of the world’s largest global companies such as McDonalds, Pfizer, Merck Sharp and Dohme, and BP.

Before joining ComRes, Artur was a member of the policy team of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium (AmCham Belgium) where he managed a range of policy, lobbying and communications projects including the USDI 2011 Report and the US Top 50 Companies in Belgium. Before that he spent three years as a policy researcher at Ghent University, and worked at the European New Towns Platform in Brussels, being responsible for the delivery of EU-funded projects. 
 
Artur holds a Master’s Degree with first class honours in EU Politics from the Nicolaus Copernicus University, and speaks four languages including English, Dutch and Polish.
